Nurturing Nature Doula Ayrshire

Caroline & Baby Lucas

During the birth Caroline helped me as we had quite a long start and at times did feel uncertain what to do. Had it been just
myself and my husband I think we would have made the transfer into hospital which I didn’t want at all. By having Caroline there the homebirth was achieved. We were both very happy to have Caroline as a part of the birth and with her services, both my husband and I agree that hiring Caroline was one of the best decisions we had made. If we have any more kids we will definitely be hiring Caroline again.

Laura & Baby Willow

Caroline was a brilliant doula, she taught me a lot and I would recommend her to everyone I know. She was positive,
encouraging and not only did she help me do exactly what I wanted and give birth naturally we now share an amazing bond and a great friendship. I trusted her with all her words during labour and Im very glad she was there to help me through every step throughout pregnancy and labour.

Magdalena & Baby Mayalena

I was hoping that as time goes by I would find it easier to word my experience with Caroline. Well it never happened, so here it goes:
Caroline is wonderful! We clicked from our first meeting, she brought back my faith in my body and womanhood, always patient, supportive and warm. And when the labour started she was a brilliant support and advocate. My birth plan statements (quite against hospital policies) where 100% met. She travelled to Glasgow anytime I needed her, held my hand at the hospitals and brought my spirits up.
My first childbirth in Poland was extremaly traumatic - augmented labour, procedures without my consent, no privacy, birth rape, and after 18 hours fetal distress and c/section under a general anaesthetic.Due to post operative complications, I had to have another surgery, antibiotics for weeks, no breastfeeding. I managed to reestablish my milk supply anyway, but that's a whole different story.
This time I was desperate to have a VBAC. To hear my newborn's cry, be the first to hold my alert baby, not being drugged in any way and have the umbilical cord unclampped untill it's pulsating. Did I believe I can do it? NO! The hospital wasn't supportive to this, actually even hostile at times.
And that was when I have found Caroline. It was her that took me through that journey, step by step, making me believe I can, supporting and offering her knowledge and experience for my informed choices. And most importantly - she was with me all along. My pregnancy was uncomplicated, so I decided for a home birth. My due date came and went and at 42 weeks I was still pregnant. I think that was the time when I appreciated Caroline the most, when the pressure for an induction or a c/section started. If not for her, I wouldn't have found the stregnth to stand my ground. She was there with me when my baby was continuosly monitored and scanned, when I was almost denied a possibility of a homebirth and pushed into an induction despite my baby was absolutely fine.
Eventually I went into labour at home, and although transferred to a hospital later on I achieved my unmedicated and unassisted VBAC at 43+2 weeks pregnant. And on top of that my baby girl was 9.7 lbs! I don't remember much of the labour apart from that it was... fun! Caroline made sure I'm ok after the delivery, took me home and kept in touch in case I needed support. It was great to have her. I have no doubts I wouldn't achieve all this if not Caroline. And yet she is so modest to say "not at all, you've done all that by yourself!" Yeah, right!

Morgan & Baby Logan

"Caroline became my doula when i was in labour. It was a very long process (8 days) and just knowing that she was there with advice and experience helped me a lot. She travelled the 60 miles from her house to mine to bring me some remedies that she thought would help me and while she was with me she kept me calm by talking about non pregnancy related things to try and keep my mind off it but still made sure i was ok. Caroline was available to me at any time by phone or e-mail and it really gave me peace of mind.

When my baby was born her support was still there when i needed it whether it was minor or major things she didn't mind and gave me the best advice she could. I still have her support and know that i can go to her with any queries and, in my opinion, that's what a great doula is, someone who will support and advise at any time about any thing. The best part is that I know what she tells me hasn't came from a book as she is an experienced mother of 4 and a great mum at that!"

"Caroline was there throughout most of my 3 day labour with my son. Her constant and caring nature really helped me through."
